Who We Are
Our website address is: https://www.oceanballs.com. We are committed to protecting your personal data and your privacy while using our website or purchasing our products.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you’re using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from these images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we’ll set up cookies to save your login info and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen option cookies last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” will keep you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. It includes no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves the same as if you visited that website directly.
These websites may collect your data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content — especially if you have an account and are logged into those sites.
Orders & Customer Accounts
When you place an order, we collect the following data:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and shipping/billing address
- Your payment method (processed externally – no full credit card info is stored)
- IP address and browser/device info (for fraud prevention)
- Purchase history, preferences, and support messages
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted third parties as needed to operate our business:
- Payment processors (e.g., PayPal)
- Delivery providers
- IT and hosting providers
- Spam detection services (for comments)
- Legal authorities, if required
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
For registered users (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for the username). Site administrators can also access and modify that information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on our site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including data you have provided.
You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Some data may be transferred internationally depending on our service providers’ locations.
